St' Timothy's Church
Project Description: Alterations and Additions to an Existing Church Building
South Africa, Cape Town, Woodlands Park
Incorporating the two columns with openings between is an exact representation of the existing architecture. Making the extension seem like it was always there. The overhanging eaves come down to invite you in, as well as draw your eye upward. Turning the entrance to a 45° and clearing the existing landscaping advertises the building to the road and passing pedestrians. The entrance is softened with planters around the entrance ramp, as well as at the parking edge, which acts as bollards.
